The Use of OBS for Online Classroom Instruction
By Charles Coralejo
With our current global situation, teachers are grappling with how to make their lessons interesting for their students who cannot go out of the house.
OBS stands for Open Broadcaster Software, and it is a free tool that teachers can use to create pre-recorded lectures for asynchronous classes. In asynchronous classes, teachers give their students materials, such as lectures and assignments to be done at their own time. Teachers can also use OBS to prerecord their own introductions, especially if they are handling multiple online classes.
Students can also use OBS when submitting their output to teachers.
Finally, this tool can be used to record video conferences so that if a student is absent or does not have stable Internet access, the teacher can send a copy of the lecture.
